Bryant Blades fencing club

Well done to everyone who competed on 27th January 2018! There were two competitions, the Hertfordshire Senior Novice Championship and the Eastern Region British Youth Championship Qualifiers.

Competing in the Eastern Region British Youth Championships yesterday was Niall, Juliana, Tom, Willow and Maddi. Special mention goes to Maddi who won a bronze medal, losing to the girl who won by 1 hit.

A huge congratulations to Lisa who won the Hertfordshire Senior Novice Championship, with impressive 15-4 and 14-4 wins in the semi-final and final.

Congratulations to Maddi Beard who won Gold at the Fencers Club London (FCL) Leon Paul Junior Series (LPJS) on 26th November 2017. This is the second year running that Maddi has won this competition, and in last weeks competition it was Maddi’s first year of being an Under 11!

Maddi put in some great performances winning both her quarter and semi-finals 10-2.

In the final Maddi won 6-5, in a very strategic and tactical fight, showing great determination and focus.

Well done to James, Willow, Juliana, Niall, Maddi and Tom who all competed in the Eastern Region Team Competition this past weekend.

In the under 14 team (James, Juliana and Willow), Bryant Blades finished 6th out of 10 teams!

In the Under 12 team (Niall, Maddi and Tom), Bryant Blades Finished 4th out of 13 teams! Unfortunately, the team lost in the bronze medal match at the end of a very long day.

Congratulations to Maddi Beard who took bronze at the 2017 LPJS Robin Hood Foil on 10th September 2017!

Congratulations to Lisa Drage, the new Northampton Senior Women’s Foil Champion, some brilliant fencing took place on Sunday 3rd September 2017.

Congratulations to Maddi who took silver at the Leon Paul Junior Series International on Sunday 6th August 2017, losing only to a girl from Hong Kong!

Congratulations to Lisa Drage who made a Top 8 at the Veterans British Fencing Championships on Sunday 16th July 2017!

On the weekend 13th and 14th of May 2017 we had some great results. At the 3rd Newham Challenge Event:

Niall Mulheron – 19th out of 32 boys,
Logan Mulheron- 15th out of 23 boys,
Maddi Beard – GOLD!!! – Maddi has won 3/3 events of the series so far, with one event remaining. This is a fantastic achievement.

The second competition was the Eastern Region Senior Championships:

Lisa Drage – BRONZE!!! – This was a great result, Lisa also finished as equal top veteran in a hard competition losing her semi final closely 15-13. Lisa was also asked to represent the region at the Winton Cup.

Well done to all that fenced, its good to see a lot of the hard training is paying off. I have attached a few photos from the events.

MADDI BEARD Girls Under 10 BRITISH NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!!!!

Huge congratulations to Maddi Beard who won the under 10 national championships in Telford on 7th May 2017.

She is Bryant Blades first national champion, and hopefully not the last!
