Class Sessions

Mini Musketeers;

Monday 5-6pm Wodson Park Leisure Centre, SG12 0UQ
Age 5-7
Giving children aged 5-7 a safe but exciting introduction to the Olympic sport of fencing.
Provides physical and intellectual stimulation through a variety of games and activities.
Improves fitness and develops balance, speed, agility and hand/eye co-ordination.
Group activities teach problem solving skills, decision making and team co-operation.
Equipment
All equipment provided.
Polycarbonate masks with stainless steel mesh visors to protect face, eyes and neck.
Foam swords strong enough to give the feel of a real weapon but soft enough to avoid injury.
Long sleeved T-shirts or sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms should be worn.

Combat Kids;

Monday 6:00-7:15pm Wodson Park, Leisure Centre, SG11 OUQ

Wednesday 6:30-8:00pm St. Edmund’s College, Old Hall Green, SG11 1DS
Age 8-11
For children aged 8-11 sessions start with physical warm-up, followed by fencing specific footwork games designed to improve speed and co-ordination of hands and feet.
Structured and progressive fencing sessions to introduce all the basic fencing skills including the concepts of attacking, defending and right of way.
An introduction to basic refereeing helps to improve intellectual and observational skills.

Equipment
All equipment provided.

Swashbucklers and Adults;

Wednesday 6:30-8:00pm St. Edmund’s College, Old hall Green, SG11 1DS
Age 12+
For anyone from age 11 upwards.
Beginners with no previous experience will learn to master the basic skills of foil fencing. Blade work including basic attack moves and defensive actions. Footwork including full use of the piste, lunges and fleches.
Experienced fencers will develop their repertoire with individual analysis and assessment of strengths and weaknesses to maximize their potential.
Individual coaching sessions from our GB squad coaches.
Equipment
All equipment provided.
Electric kit including masks, metal foils , body wires, electric lame jackets and scoring system.
Safety under-plastron, jacket and glove.
All equipment is tested to CEN standards.
Long sleeved T-shirts or sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms should be worn.
